Contract Review Methodology

A transparent outline of the AI-assisted review workflow.

1. Document extraction

ContractPilot accepts supported document formats, verifies the declared type against file contents, extracts readable text, and stores source documents separately from parsed clauses.

2. Clause parsing

Extracted text is split into clauses with section positions. These positions are used to connect risk signals back to the reviewed source text.

3. Risk assessment

Each clause is reviewed for risk indicators such as one-sided obligations, missing protections, unusual terms, and language requiring attorney attention. Risk levels are signals, not legal conclusions.

4. Evidence and limits

Findings should cite the clause text that supports the signal. A cited finding can still require human review for jurisdiction, context, cross-references, and business priorities.
